 Neuropsychological Assessment

("Brain-Behavior" Psychological Testing")

The Advanced Biofeedback Center is associated with Northwest Neuropsychology  Incorporated, Schaumburg, IL. Neuropsychology focuses on using standardized testing materials and techniques to understand "brain-behavior" relationships. Your or your child's test results are compared to normative data to determine if performance is about "average" compared to others in the normative sample when the test was developed.

Sometimes test results suggest that you or your child may be "above average" or "superior" compared to others. Sometimes test results suggest that "below average" performance has been detected. Most people have strengths and weaknesses, and so this testing can be very important to identify your intellectual, perceptual, and motor skills. Various standardized intelligence, achievement, memory, attention, perceptual, motor skills, and personality tests may be selected depending upon your own specific needs. Children and adolescents are frequently tested for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD / ADHD), Learning Disabilities, and Behavioral/Emotional issues.

Athletes, musicians, dancers, and other performers may desire to understand their strengths and weaknesses better so that they may achieve higher levels of skill. Northwest Neuropsychology's staff of licensed clinical psychologists are available to assist children and adolescents and their parents/guardians consult with school staff as they develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for those who need special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
